Nouakchott, October 22, 2025 – As part of the ongoing implementation of the training and support program for the leather sector, artisans currently undergoing training paid a study visit to UNIPOD for practical sessions focused on leather production and craftsmanship, branding and digital communication, as well as financial management.
The visit took place in the presence of a representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), representatives of the United Nations in Mauritania, the team from the General Directorate of Handicrafts, Trades and the Promotion of the Social Economy under the Ministry of Vocational Training, Handicrafts and Trades, as well as Maraz Academy.
This program aims to support artisans in improving the quality of their products, developing leather goods collections, and transforming them into entrepreneurs capable of creating sustainable impact within the local and sub-regional economy.
